To reserve the house renters must
mail a check for the total rental fee and another check for the
security deposit (the security deposit is 50% of the total rental fee
but will not exceed $500)
Four wheel drive vehicle
suggested but not mandatory (a well lit emergency parking lot is
located at the bottom of Hawk Mountain Road for cars that can't make it
up the hill in the snow

Notable seasons of the year (the
beginning and end dates of these seasons are best guesses and vary from
year to year depending on temperature and rainfall):
- The mud season starts in early
April and ends in late May
- The black fly season starts at
the end of May and lasts until mid July
- The leaf season usually starts in
late
September and lasts until mid October--check the Foliage
Forecaster to see when peak leaf season
occurs this year

THINGS THAT ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE
RENTAL THAT YOU SHOULD BRING:
- sheets
- towels
- condiments
- soap
- shampoo
- toothpaste
- dishwasher detergent
- charcoal
- lighter fluid
The
house has pillows and blankets for all the beds and it comes
stocked with firewood, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish soap,
garbage bags and sponges; the 100-year-old Pittsfield General Store
located in the middle of town sells most of these items (General Store
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8-7, Fri & Sat 7-8, Sun 7-6)
An optional linen service is
available that provides sheets and towels for an extra $70 (if you
don't want to spend the $70, you can bring your own sheets and towels)
